Provides an output signal at one nth the input frequency, where n is the division ratio (or modulus) of the prescaler. A prescaler is often used as part of a PLL to provide a low frequency signal that can be locked to a stable low frequency reference.

HMMC series Prescalers
The use of GaAs HBT processing results in prescalers with excellent high frequency performance. These products are offered in chip form and SO-8 package.
  1. HMMC-3002, -3004, -3008: divide by 2,4 or 8, performance to 15 GHz [chip].
    HMMC-3102, -3104, -3108: divide by 2,4 or 8, performance to 15 GHz [SO-8].
  2. HMMC-3022, -3024, -3028: divide by 2,4 or 8, performance to 12 GHz.
    HMMC-3122, -3124, -3128: divide by 2,4 or 8, performance to 15 GHz [SO-8].
 
IFD-53 series Prescalers
The use of high speed analog silicon processing results in specialty prescalers with good phase noise performance and operation to 6 GHz in unusually small packaging.
  1. IFD-53010: divide by 4 premium performance (6 GHz)
  2. IFD-53110: divide by 4 reduced frequency (5 GHz)
 
System Solutions
Prescalers are integrated into some Agilent Technologies chip set solutions
  1. HPMX-5001: up converter / down converter chip for 1.5 - 2.5 GHz FHSS chip set includes a divide by 32/33.
  2. HPMX-5002: IF /Demodulator chip for 1.5 - 2.5 GHz FHSS chip set includes a divide by 9/12/16 and a divide by 90/216.
